Maggie Munthali is a climate and sustainable development specialist with a PhD in Geography, specializing in Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) for natural resource management, and over 15 years of experience in climate change, environmental management, agriculture, disaster risk management, and youth livelihoods. She currently works at MwAPATA Institute as a Research Fellow. She has expertise in policy analysis, programme coordination, stakeholder engagement, and resource mobilisation. She has successfully integrated gender, youth, climate resilience, environmental sustainability, and disaster risk reduction into policies and programmes, while providing technical leadership through national and regional platforms. She has authored numerous policy briefs and technical reports and serves as a UNFCCC Technical Expert, supporting countries in strengthening climate action and sustainable development.
